Privacy policy
Last updated: 3 October 2026
This policy explains how clear.mt handles personal data when you visit this website, ask for a quote or contact us. We follow the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Malta's Data Protection Act (Cap. 586).
Who we are
The data controller is clear.mt. You can contact us about privacy at privacy@clear.mt.
What we collect
- Quote and contact requests: your name, phone or WhatsApp number, email (if given), locality, the service you need, your message and any photos you send. We also record how you found us (for example the page you came from, any campaign tags in the link, and whether you used a phone or computer) so we know which of our pages and channels are useful.
- Messages: what you send us by WhatsApp, phone or email.
- Technical data: basic server logs (such as IP address and browser type) kept by our hosting provider for security.
- Analytics: only if you accept analytics cookies, information about how you use the site. See the cookie policy.
Why we use it and our legal basis
- To prepare and send your quote, arrange the job and deal with any follow-up. Legal basis: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract, and performance of that contract.
- To keep the website secure and prevent spam. Legal basis: our legitimate interests.
- To understand how the site is used, if you consent. Legal basis: consent, which you can withdraw at any time through "Cookie settings" in the footer.
- To keep records required by law, such as tax records for completed jobs. Legal basis: legal obligation.
We do not sell your data and we do not send marketing messages unless you have asked us to.
Who we share it with
The specialist who does your job. Some jobs are carried out by independent specialist businesses we work with. When that is the case, we share the details needed to quote and do the job (your name, contact number, locality, address once agreed, and the job description and photos). These are window cleaning, solar panel cleaning, chimney and stove, and clearance specialists. They may use your details only to quote for and carry out your job, and must keep them secure.
Service providers who process data for us under contract:
- Vercel Inc. (website hosting)
- Brevo (email delivery of quote requests)
- Cloudflare (spam protection on forms)
- Google (analytics, only with your consent)
- HubSpot (customer records and follow-up)
Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where they do, transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
How long we keep it
- Quote requests that do not lead to a job (form, email or WhatsApp): deleted 12 months after our last contact with you.
- Customer and job details (contact details, address, job description and photos): kept for 2 years after your last job, so we can handle follow-ups, complaints and repeat bookings.
- Invoices and payment records: kept for as long as Maltese tax and accounting law requires.
- Analytics data: kept by Google Analytics for 14 months, and only collected if you accept analytics cookies.
- Server logs: kept by our hosting provider for a short period for security.
- Your cookie choice: 6 months, after which we ask again.
If you ask us to delete your data sooner, we will, unless the law requires us to keep it.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive a copy in a portable format. Where we rely on consent you can withdraw it at any time. Email privacy@clear.mt and we will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information and Data Protection Commissioner (IDPC) in Malta at idpc.org.mt.
