Why windows in Malta get dirty so fast

Most of the islands are within a short distance of the sea, so salt carried on the wind dries onto glass as a cloudy film. Add dust from ongoing construction and the reddish mud left behind when rain brings down Saharan dust, and a window can look grimy within weeks.

Wiping that residue off with a dry cloth scratches glass. A proper clean loosens it first, then rinses and finishes the glass so it dries clear.

How often should you clean your windows?

For most homes, every two to three months keeps glass looking good. Seafront properties and homes near building sites usually need more frequent visits. Offices and shopfronts often book monthly or fortnightly.

Window cleaning prices in Malta

Every quote is fixed and agreed before the work starts. What decides the price:

  • How many windows and glass doors, and how large they are
  • Inside, outside or both
  • Access: ground floor, balconies, upper floors, or glass that needs special equipment
  • How dirty the glass is, for example after building work or a long gap
  • One-off clean or a regular schedule, which usually costs less per visit

Window cleaning: common questions

Do you clean high windows and apartment blocks?

Yes. Upper floors and facades are quoted individually, because access decides the method and the equipment. Tell us the building height and send a photo and we will advise.

Do I need to be home?

For outside-only cleans you usually do not. For inside glass, someone needs to let the specialist in. Many customers arrange key collection.

Can you clean Maltese balconies (gallariji)?

Yes. Traditional timber balconies have many small panes and delicate frames, so they take longer and are quoted separately from standard windows.

How is the price worked out?

By the number and size of windows, how easy they are to reach, and whether you want inside, outside or both. Photos help us give you an accurate quote quickly.

Do you use pure water or water-fed poles?

Where the glass and access suit it, purified water on water-fed poles is used, which dries without streaks and lets upper-floor glass be cleaned from the ground. Other windows are cleaned by hand. The method is confirmed in your quote.

Is it cheaper to book regular window cleaning?

Usually, yes. A regular schedule takes less time per visit than a one-off clean after months of build-up, and that is reflected in the price.
